September 2004, Freightliner - North American leader in Heavy Trucks industry - announce the production of a new class M2 Truck for the third quart of 2004: The M2 106V model.

The Freightliner M2 106V Truck is a highly versatile vehicle built to be very agile, efficient and reliable.

Just like other class M2 Trucks, the model M2 106V is built for heavy duty requiring a strong front-end stability. This kind of Freightliner Trucks is ideal for snow removal, crane operations, construction, agricultural and all municipal services.


The Freightliner M2 106V Truck front frame extensions provides a RBM up to 3.7 millions pounds per inch for a more solid assembling of hydraulic pumps, winches, front stabilizers and snowplows. The PTO (Power Take-Off) engine of the M2 106V Truck provide more power to attachments like snowplows, cranes, refuse packers and other utility equipment.


Drivability and manoeuvrability of the Freightliner M2 106V Truck are the same one's that contributes to the success of the M2 Trucks series. The M2 106V Truck can provide a wheel-cut up to 55-degree for a greater agility. His 2500-square-inch windshield and his low dash give the best view for the driver.

Freightliner M2 106V Truck general characteristics

Engine: The M2 106V Truck standard engine is a Mercedes-Benz MBE 906 6.4 litters providing 260 HP, 520 to 700 pound-feet of torque, excellent fuel saving and the best power-to-weight ratio in the industry. In option, the Freightliner M2 106V Truck owner can have a MBE 926 de 7.2 litters providing 330 HP and 800 to 1000 pound-feet of torque. Caterpillar C7 and C9 engines are also available for the M2 106V Truck.

Transmission: Several transmissions, included Eaton Fuller, Allison and Mercedes-Benz, are available for the Freightliner M2 106V Truck.

Suspension: The M2 106V Truck suspension, from 10000 to 20000 lbs, is particularly efficient for labour requiring a strong front-end stability. Several axles and rear suspensions, from 21000 to 46000 lbs, are also available. The standard leaf-spring cab suspension of the Freightliner M2 106V Truck provide great comfort and vibration reduction. Other cab suspensions, air-ride included, are in option.

Radiator: The 1,000-square-inch radiator or the Freightliner M2 106V Truck is raised over the PTO engine tag for a better cooling capacity and engine damage prevention.

Maintenance: Just like other class M2 Trucks, the M2 106V is equipped with the famous Freightliner Trucks Multiplex Wiring System for ease maintenance and customize the configuration of PTO, attach and other assembling parts. The Freightliner M2 106V Truck cabin, in light aluminium, resist to rusting and maximizes payload. Standard stationary grille and hood access hatches reduces maintenance time and cost.

Ergonomy: The Freightliner M2 106V Truck provide the typical class M2 Truck ergonomic benefits: High-back air-ride driver’s seat for more comfort and drivability; HVAC and insulation system for noise and temperature extremes reduction; Special Wing dash to keep the driver closer to the gauges and controls for better manoeuvrability.
