With the Merlo Road-Rail system, the transition from the road configuration to the one for rails circulation is made hydraulically with command unit inside cabin. Two railroad axles equipped with disk brakes on terminal wheels provides a maximal speed around 40 km per hour. The machine dimensions for railroad configuration fit the template limit according to international standards.
